19.Appeal to Emotion
This is one particular copywriting gig that can make it to the big leagues. In addition to working with testimonials, price justifications, and the proof elements, you need to work with possible emotions the readers might be feeling. If you can nail it right, you can make a fortune. If you want to incorporate emotions in your writing, you need to ask yourself what is your readersâ deepest desire and emotions right at this moment. There are so many emotions and feeling you can appeal to. However, the deepest, strongest emotions driven by rational thoughts which you can utilize are flattery, fear, guilt, greed, salvation, anger, and exclusivity.
20.Look from a Different Angle
Expert stock story writers and promoters write their copies by at first read all articles they can lay their hands on concerning the company. After that, they make a list of âfascinating bullet pointsâ for the selected articles. By doing this, you can explore all types of sales angles which are yet to be exploited. You can get hooked on the stock story from these angles. Once you get the lead, the story almost scribbles itself. The magazines, the articles and the blogs you read can be very different but they all have the same principle. Begin by researching informative sources and then investigate to find the unique, different, interesting and unheard of ideas.
21.Hunt for the Right Words
One of the oldest tricks of copywriting is to avoid the use of adverbs and adjectives to turn an okay word into an amazing expression. Search the best word to convey the emotion, vision, and message. In this way, you can transform your copy into a stronger script and it also makes you invisible as the writer enhancing the readersâ emotions. It will make them visualize, feel and comprehend the message that you want to convey to the readers. Usage of right words makes a difference between lightning bug and the lightning.
22.Write in Active Tone
Compared to the usage of passive sentences in writing, shorter, active tones are stronger and can quickly convey the message in a better way. On the other hand, passive tone makes the writing sound weak, easily acted upon and reactive, unlike active voice which helps you take the charge. For instance, âwe have helped 1000 peopleâ sounds better than â1000 people have been helped by usâ.
23.Use Imperative Terms Instead of Weasel Words
Avoiding using commanding words like âcanâ, âwillâ is a way of strengthening of your draft and makes you sound confident. Revise your draft and replace all weasel words (for example, perhaps, hope, may, could etc.) with a suitable imperative term (for example, do, can, will, etc.).
24.Support Your Claims
When you can prove or support your claims giving enough evidence and data then you can make your writing even stronger and can establish more credibility and trust among the readers. You need to back up your claims and benefits with proof. In this way, you can even impress the skeptic readers and demonstrate that you really know what you are writing about.
